Q. I am attending a celebration at a Mexican resort and am looking for a comfortable stylish outfit. My initial thought is low wedged espadrilles, a comfortable jersey or cotton dress, and a lightweight scarf/pashmina for a extra warmth. I am struggling to pull a coordinated outfit together. I want it to be bohemian chic with a nod to Spanish/Mexican flavor without looking like a costume. A purse and jewelry options to simply accessorize would be great too. Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, and Jennifer Anniston are good examples of the style I am leaning towards with this outfit.
A. You can’t go wrong with a pretty printed dress, especially one of this season’s gorgeous ikat iterations. Of course, what’s comfortable for one person may not be comfortable for another, but you’re bound to find a silhouette that works for you, whether mini or maxi, strapless or short sleeved. Here are a few options for your Mexican celebration:
For shoes, a low wedge or even flat strappy metallic sandal will be perfect. A pretty scarf or open weave cardigan are ideal for layering should the weather get chilly. As for accessories, opt for pretty earrings, a cuff bracelet or bangles, and a summery clutch. Have fun!
Q. I’ve been seeing a lot of maxi skirts in stores. Other than a t-shirt or tank top, what can I wear with a long skirt? And can I wear one to work?
A. The maxi skirt is indeed a big trend this season and it can be far more versatile than you might think. Of course, the boho look with a tank top or t-shirt and sandals is a great summer casual look, but there are many other ways to wear a long skirt.
For a dressier look that can be worn to work or for an evening out, try pairing your maxi with a fitted blazer, cropped jacket, or a pretty blouse. The blouse can be tucked in to the skirt, or you can try a peplum blouse that nips in at the waist and flairs slightly at the hips like the second look from the left below. Chunky high heel sandals or platform wedges are ideal shoe choices.
For a more casual look, try wearing a denim jacket or vest, chambray button down, or a blousy tank top or t-shirt. Shoes can be anything from espadrilles and wedge sandals to flat sandals.

Q. I am not a logo person by any means but have always been drawn to the Tory Burch Reva Flat. I wear flats to work most days and I’m trying to decide if I want this shoe to be my next purchase. Would you consider the Reva Flat to be a ‘trend’ or more of a classic style staple?
A. The Tory Burch Reva Flat has definitely moved into “classic shoe” territory — no longer a trendy must-have, this iconic shoe is one that you can wear for years. That being said, if you have always been drawn to them and can afford the $195 price tag, then enjoy wearing them without worrying whether they are trendy or not. The tricky part now will be deciding which of the many versions available to choose!
Q. After hours of searching online, I’ve concluded that nude, neutral, or beige heels only come in heels above 3 inches! I know that works for most ladies who are more daring than I, but I am looking for a pair of nude heels for a wedding I am in this May. I am by far the tallest bridesmaid in the bunch, and I’m hoping not to stand out too much from the rest of the shorties - can you help? Another requirement: the bride has requested that heels do not have anything other color in them.
A. True, most evening shoes are of the sky-high variety, but we found several that are under 3 inches high:
