Incidentally, I just bought a pair of black strappy/dressy heeled sandals from Endless.com. (Here are the ones I bought: http://tiny.cc/uJUft
They have about a 2.5 to 2.75 heel. I usually steer clear of heels because I tend to fall over a lot and that's embarrassing, but these are very comfortable and give great support. I didn't fall over once! Nor feel like I was about to fall.
My only word of caution is that the brand (Annie) apparently runs a bit small. So order up. I ordered a half size up and they fit me perfectly, but some people recommend ordering a full size up.
