We love when people play against type. That's why we find Leighton Meester's character Blair Waldorf on The CW's Gossip Girl so much fun. On the show she plays a preppy Upper East Side princess, when in real life she is more of a downtown diva.

Every Monday we see her in sheaths, caplets (as shown above), pencil skirts, peacoats and headbands. Alternatively in her downtime she works abstract print dresses, skinnies and booties, and leather.

Above right, she shows off her personal style in a black leather plunging neckline micro-mini dress and bandeau by Paule Ka. She finishes off the look with tousled curls and seriously smokey eyes.

Designer Prabal Gurung is definitely having his moment. From Demi Moore, to Leighton Meester, to Thandie Newton, the young designer's looks have been popping up all over Hollywood and the red carpet.

Above is one of our favorite looks, seen on Thandie Newton at the 2012 premiere,from Gurung's Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear Collection. We love the black and white print and the sleek black trim along the edges. Still, what we love most is that even with the print and the bow, the look is still simple and chic.

We can't resist a good love story, which is why we can't wait for the The Twilight Saga: New Moon movie to come out on Friday. Here Ashley Greene, Kristen Stewart, and Dakota Fanning show off our favorite looks from Monday's red carpet at the Los Angeles Premiere.

As evidenced above Blake Lively has no problem taking the plunge. As in plunging necklines. From the Emmy Awards where she wore a plunging red Versace dress, to the premiere of The Private Lives of Pipa Lee where she wore a low cut Marchesa jacket, Blake likes to add a little drama.

The looks on the red carpet for Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year Awards were rich and dramatic just like we like. Model and Entrepreneur Iman went all out in a  feathered Jason Wu feather dress, while Katherine McPhee stayed sleek in a cobalt grecian gown.

Still, it was Glamour's 2009 Woman of the Year Rihanna who stole the show in her Stéphane Rolland Couture gown and Cartier jewels.
