Who Wore It Best? Marion Cotillard Or Maggie Gyllenhaal?

At least they didn't wear the same dress to the same event...but they did wear the same dress. Maggie Gyllenhaal and Marion Cotillard, both in a navy blue draped shoulder dress, kept this look simple, which was the right thing to do. But who wore it best?

Points to Marion for her cute bob and lovely makeup. Points to both for amazing footwear. But we have to say that while we LOVE Marion and feel she can do no wrong...Maggie's take on this dress is better. True, the camera angle isn't helping, but Marion's dress doesn't fit as well across the top as Maggie's and the length could have been shorter too.

Steal This Style: Marion Cotillard's Dots Dress

We are crazy about the Elie Saab dress Marion Cotillard wore to the Los Angeles Film Festival premiere of Public Enemies. It's a microprint...looks like dots? The dress on the right is similar and the ruffled neckline and matching belt achieves the same visual interest as the ruching around the waist on Marion's dress. However, the dots are more spaced out and it's missing that really sophisticated vibe the Elie Saab dress accomplishes with its high collar and fitted hip. Sigh...guess we better start saving our pennies.

We love how Isla adapted this fall/winter Stella McCartney dress for the summer, but then again, we've always been a fan of Isla's style. We particularly love that she wears strong colors, like this yellow look and this blue look. What should be her next look? Red, orange, purple??
