Road Test, Part 3: Reebok EasyTone Go Outside Sneakers + Win A Free Pair

reebokeasytone.jpg
It has been nearly a month since we announced our participation in the Reebok EasyTone road test challenge. Designed to give muscles a workout and tone legs while going about your usual daily activities, we've enjoyed wearing these while running errands, going grocery shopping and on recreational walks outdoors.

Our final conclusion? As stated in our past review, we do feel our muscles engaging more with every step, but mainly, these shoes are such a pleasure to wear that we actually find ourselves walking more often and for longer durations. We look better and see a noticeable difference in the tone of our butt and thighs since we began the road test challenge.

Keep in mind, the EasyTones look like athletic sneakers, so you won't find us wearing them with dresses and skirts this summer, but you can bet they will be our sneaker of choice when running around doing errands or walking around the neighborhood.

Thank you to all the readers who posted comments telling us how they stay fit without hitting the gym. You've really inspired us to find creative ways to stay in shape while going about our daily activities!

We've chosen Melissa as the winner of a pair of Reebok EasyTones. Her method of staying in shape is practical and easy enough for everyone to try:

"I do lots and lots of lunges. Picking up a toy, lunge. Walking through the backyard, lunge. I also walk as often as I can. I like to park in the spaces furthest out from wherever I'm going and always take the stairs."

Congrats Melissa!

Road Test, Part 2: Reebok EasyTone Go Outside Sneakers + Win A Free Pair

reebokeasytone.jpg
A few weeks ago we announced our participation in the Reebok EasyTone road test challenge. These special sneakers are designed to give muscles a workout and tone legs while going about your usual daily activities. Excited about the prospect of working out without hitting the gym, we heartily agreed to give the EasyTones a try.

Since then, we've been wearing our EasyTones around town: running errands, grocery shopping, walks around the neighborhood, etc. The best part about these sneakers is the super-cushiony feel. After wearing them for several hours at a time, there were no signs of foot fatigue at all. We can definitely see why Reebok says they're 3X softer than foam based walking shoes. For this reason alone, we'll continue to reach for these shoes on days we plan to do a lot of walking.

Now the big question: are our legs noticeably more toned from wearing these sneakers? The answer is... maybe. In our efforts to give these sneakers a hearty road test, along with a few bouts of early spring weather, we've stepped up our recreational walking. We definitely feel more toned, but it's difficult to say whether it is from the shoes or the increased activity - or perhaps a combination of the two.

While wearing the shoes, we do feel as if our thighs and calves are putting in a little extra effort - mainly due to the balance pods built into the heel and forefoot of the shoes that work much like the core train ball used in gym workouts. Thankfully, the muscular involvement is subtle enough not to cause any muscle fatigue during your walk or aching when you get home.

We'll check back with you in 2 weeks to give you our full report and final conclusions. In the meantime, you can find out more about Reebok EasyTones here or at reebok.com

Road Test: Reebok EasyTone Go Outside Sneakers + Win A Free Pair

reebokeasytone.jpg

We just received the brand new Reebok Easy Tone, kicking off our 30 day road test of the  sneaker that promises to give muscles a workout and tone legs while going about our usual daily activities (shopping, running errands, walking to work or school...) A workout without hitting the gym? Count us in!

The shoe incorporates a unique "core" ball technology, which shifts air back and forth within the shoe each time you step, creating instability so your muscles get more of a workout...which tones your legs. According to Reebok, a person wearing EasyTone will experience increased muscle activation* in her glutes (28%) and in key muscles in her hamstrings (11%) and calves (11%). Plus, they're 3X softer than foam based walking shoes.

Our first impressions? The sneaker is most definitely soft and cushiony - and much better looking than MBTs and Fit Flops. Stay tuned over the next month as we report back our results from wearing the sneakers in our daily life.
