Everyone knows that the hardest part about sticking to your fitness routine is staying motivated. Each day I’m faced with a multitude of obstacles and excuses not to work out: I’m tired, I’m too busy, there’s a new episode of The Bachelor on (oh wait, is that just me?)… Overcoming the obstacles and finding the time and inclination to work out is my daily struggle — sometimes I’m successful, sometimes not so much — I try not to beat myself up too much and just vow to do better the next day.

Obviously, the key to getting motivated is to find a workout you like. I have a few that are in my weekly rotation: yoga, walking and dance. Mixing it up and finding activities I enjoy that can be squeezed into my daily routine is essential for me. Something else that helps to keep me motivated? Investing in stylish and flattering workout clothes. Feeling confident in what I’m wearing can be a big mood booster, often giving me just the last little push I need to get out the door and get moving.

This week, I was lucky enough to receive four items from the Heidi Klum for New Balance collection, a range of seriously stylish fitness clothes made for performance. I couldn’t wait to take the new clothes out for a spin (there’s that motivation!). I started with the HKNB Coverup ($79.99) and HKNB Tech Capri ($74.99) and headed out for a brisk walk/jog on a gorgeous cool spring day. The clothes fit perfectly, looked great and were unbelievably comfortable. The coverup was long enough to cover my rear (a bonus in my book) and was super soft and stretchy. I loved the thumb holes in the sleeves and the kangaroo pocket was perfect for holding my iPhone while I listened to music. Also, the top is so stylish, it easily goes from gym to street. The capri felt like a second skin; the elastic waistband stayed in place and didn’t dig in to my waist at all, and the moisture wicking fabric kept me cool. I loved the flash of reflective fluorescent on the lower legs too.

For yoga the next day, it was the HKNB 1/2 Zip ($69.99) and the HKNB Essential Tight ($74.99), both equally as comfortable and flattering as the coverup and capri. The bottom line? I just found 4 more great reasons to ditch The Bachelor and get moving instead.

Striped dresses are a bold way to sport the trend this spring. This black and white stripe dress from Merona ($20) boasts a classic shape with a chic red belt — perfect for the office. A more playful and flirty version from Mossimo ($27.99) features variegated stripes colorblocked with a gorgeous cobalt color.

The Ponte Stripe Jacket from Mossimo ($34.99) comes in graphic black and white or nautical navy and white stripes. We love this with everything from cropped jeans to white Bermuda shorts.

A lightweight sweater is perfect for the unpredictable weather of spring. This Xhilaration Boat Neck Open Knit Sweater ($22.99) flaunts the bold graphic stripes that are so on-trend this season and comes in several color variations. The Mossimo Supply Co. Long Sleeve V-Neck Tee ($12) comes in many colors, making it the perfect layering piece to wear with just about everything.

Finally, the Merona Rugby Print Stripe Scarf ($14.99) is made of gauzy cotton and a great way to sport stripes any day of the week.
