The tribal accessories trend is inspired by Louis Vuitton's spring
'09 collection. Marc Jacob's collaboration with shoe designer Fabrizio
Viti resulted in the trendsetting Louis Vuitton tribal heel sandal.
You'll see versions of the tribal sandal everywhere this spring as well as a
multitude of ethnic inspired accessories. Think sophisticated
globetrotter gathering trinkets and baubles from her travels to the
farthest reaches of the Asia, Africa, and South America layering her arm
with richly embroidered cuffs and embellishing her feet with strands of
beads, exotic skins and feathers. Key to this look are lush details such
as beading, embroidery, knotting, weaving and a multitude of textures
layered and trimmed with feathers, natural stones and animal prints.
We scouted a few items touting this trend including a pair of Tory Burch
Carrie patent wedges with a geometric pattern reminiscent of
frescoed African wall paintings. The most similar to the Louis Vuitton
sandal is the Katrin leather exotic sandal from
Bebe. Others include the knotted L.A.M.B.
Gabina Tribal Strap Sandal and the beaded Steven by Steve Madden
Bianna Sandal. An exquisite example of gorgeous handwork is the
richly textured Boudica cuff from Erickson Beamon. The
oversized Roberto Cavalli Zebra
print shopper is another testament to tribal trend, perfect for jetting
off on your own globetrotting adventure.
