Bust Haves: The Perfect Bras for Every Body

Tell us what bra you can't live without

I have been wearing Wacoal and Chantelle minimizers for years.

When I want to be comfortable, I wear the Sassybax bralette.

I love the Very Sexy Push up by Victoria Secret. It is lightly lined and seamless. It also is very supportive.

Victoria's Secret has THE BEST Bra for my 34Bs. Its the Secret Embrace. I just got 2 at half off because of their sale. I love this bra. I have 3 & it really makes me look bigger & sexier!

I spent years searching for a good sports bra, and finally found the Champion Shape T-Back. It actually comes in regular bra sizes, not a range, and has built in cups. It provides excellent support for all activities, including running.

I have been wearing underwire bras for 30 years, but nothing has ever flattered my girls more than the Le Mystere Carina bra.

My favorite bra is a seamless, laser-cut demi bra by Maidenform. It was about 30 bucks and is SO comfortable. Did I mention it was seamless? No seams! No hemming! And yet it stays exactly where it should. Best bra ever.

Until recently, buying a bra that fit well and flattered my figure (large busted) was almost impossible.
Thank goodness this changed dramatically when Shapeez.com introduced an amazing garment called "The Unbelievabra".
This is the BEST bra I have ever worn. It gives me full support and has a slimming effect that I think is unequaled by any other bra garment on the market.
What I like the most is that I no longer have to look at the back fat that other bras create. I am not a heavy person but wearing an ordinary bra tends to push skin in a way that makes it look like I had fat in places I don't.
The Unbelievabra's design totally eliminates this problem area and has a comfort level I've never experienced before. Oh, and let me mention that when I'm wearing the UBB, I have not needed to touch the shoulder straps....not even once. What a plus that is.
Accolades to the creators of this bra. Hurray !!

Going back and forth wearing bras and not wearing them, I found for me, that somewhere in between is just right. My favorite style near impossible to find. It is basically what you would have if you took the tank top part off of a cami with a built in "bra". Just the straps, the under elastic, and the fabric in between. I found some microfiber ones at an outlet store once, but I never find them in retail stores. Plus, I prefer cotton/spandex. Not a big fan of microfiber, its sticky and gross.
I hate wearing bras so this is the next best thing when I don't want anything poking out too much, or being seen through thin fabric.
Oh and I'm a 42D, and don't mind "sagging". Its part of life.

I just wish the bra makers would realize almost every problem (straps slipping, overflow, strange cleavage)could be remedied by having the straps hold up the girls from the CENTER of the cup, rather than the outer edge. Unless it is a halter style, the straps will fall off every time. Plus the girls will look ROUND, and evenly centered on the chest, rather than pushed together or flopping around against your arms (!)
And another thing! TALL ladies have different geography than our medium and petite sisters do; measure from under one breast at band, up over shoulder to back band, and the measurement on Tall might be 5" more than on a shorter gal. Yet all bras are measured as if everyone's bumps are the same distance from waist, shoulder, etc.
End of Rant. Thank you for listening.

Here is an excerpt from a letter to hanes (they never responded, and stopped making those models). Oh and to playtex - what about my nearly Ds?

I am writing to tell you I have found the almost perfect bra, your models G943 & G907. It is so incredibly comfortable. I do not need or want “lift” or cleavage, extreme lace or “add a size enhancement.” Maybe most men do. I need to forget I’m wearing a bra.

The reason I call it almost perfect is because I can’t find it in my actual size, 34 C.... I’m hoping you don’t downsize the cup size for a 34 C, as it happens with most brands.

I would like to add a note to your design department. In many women’s worlds, the perfect bra has:
• NO underwire (When you have to wear a bra 16 hours a day, one that digs into your ribs is unbearable.)
• NO padding (a C to D sized person already has plenty)
• THIN straps + LESS material (Just because I’m a “C” doesn’t mean I need 4 hooks and enough extra material for a sports bra. – I’m 5’1” with a short waist, so extra material rides up under my arms and is low on my back and sides)
• Enough support to jog briefly, ride a bike, but not so much you can’t breathe.
• Soft cotton or cottony feeling material – preferably a wicking material
• No seams or monofilament thread to itch and stick you.
• Smooth seamless cups - no lace, jaquard, bows
• Adjustable straps – necessary for short people
• Enough stretch in the front to not cut a line across the front of breasts, forming the famous extra bulging little breasts look.
• A reasonable price
• Lots of colors

Your G943 meets all of those criteria except lots of colors, which I can live with. My correct size would be heaven!

I have a wonderful unpadded, but lined under wire, push up bra that is about 4 years old. I have a few left and need to replace with same type but new. I cannot find one similar without the hot unbreathable cancer causing foam lined or padded cups. Give us girls some comfort, leave off the foam, use COTTON lining. Cotton breathes, nylon, polyester and foam is hot and sticky. Help
