Q. I bought the Steven by Steve Madden Pembroke bootie in leopard. Is this something I can wear into Fall 2012? Or is this a trend that peaked in 2011? I often think of leopard as ‘timeless’ but I wasn’t sure when it comes to specific items, like booties!

A. Leopard print is indeed timeless, and one of my all-time favorite prints - especially on accessories like shoes and bags. You can indeed wear your leopard booties through the rest of 2012 and beyond. To prove just how deep my love for leopard goes, here are 9 pairs of shoes I’d wear now and forever.

Q. A very generous friend gifted me a pair of leopard Louboutin pumps. They are Beeeautiful. I’m wondering what to wear them with so as not to overdo the look. I’m assuming a pair of skinny black trousers, but what kind of top? I have a nephew’s engagement party at a restaurant coming up and thought this would be the perfect opportunity.

A. Now that’s a friend! Can you make an introduction? Kidding aside, congrats on being the proud owner of a new pair of leopard Louboutin pumps. It is no secret that I have a serious love for leopard print shoes, so you’ve come to the right place.

There’s a reason I love leopard pumps: they’re eternally chic and can be worn with almost everything. A few examples: jeans and a blazer, skinny black pants and a tunic, a pencil skirt and blouse, camel trousers and a sweater, a little black dress…see what I mean? Everything. Day or night, work or weekend, dressy or casual, leopard pumps do it all.

Some favorite colors to pair with leopard are red, black, brown, camel, orange, blue, gold, yellow, pink, green, mustard and charcoal grey. Leopard shoes can even be paired with prints, but this is where it can get a little tricky, so if you’re not comfortable mixing your prints, then stick with solid colors. Take a look at two of Heidi Klum’s recent looks for great ways to wear leopard pumps with prints.

For those of you reading this who don’t already own a pair of leopard print shoes, it’s time to add this key piece to your wardrobe now — and you don’t have to spend Louboutin prices. Here are some options to get you started:

Q. In the Spring, I saw tons of leopard pencil skirts and didn’t snatch one up!! Now I really want one and can’t seem to find one anywhere. My price point is anything under $60 & I prefer no sequins or metallics.

A. Leopard print pencil skirts offer a chic update on a classic silhouette. We love them paired with feminine blouses, dark blazers and even leather jackets. Here are several affordable options, as well as a super cute leopard print skirt that’s a bit shorter and more flirty than a pencil skirt.

Q. I just bought a pair of leopard print shoes, and I need help! Other than a white shirt and black pants, what do I wear them with?

A. Leopard flats are a serious favorite of mine, so you’re asking the right girl! Over the years, I have collected no less than 6 variations of the leopard flat. I wear them with literally everything. They do look good with black and white as you mentioned, but they also look great with denim, red, camel, olive green, purple, orange, jewel tones… in fact, I can’t think of many colors a leopard print doesn’t go with.

This season, I’m particularly loving leopard prints paired with military-inspired pieces like cargo pants in khaki or olive green. I also love them worn with a ladylike camel coat or camel sweater and a pair of dark jeans.

The bottom line? Don’t feel boxed in to wearing your leopard with just black and white, they work with just about any color in your fall wardrobe!
