Q. I am attending a celebration at a Mexican resort and am looking for a comfortable stylish outfit. My initial thought is low wedged espadrilles, a comfortable jersey or cotton dress, and a lightweight scarf/pashmina for a extra warmth. I am struggling to pull a coordinated outfit together. I want it to be bohemian chic with a nod to Spanish/Mexican flavor without looking like a costume. A purse and jewelry options to simply accessorize would be great too. Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, and Jennifer Anniston are good examples of the style I am leaning towards with this outfit.

A. You can’t go wrong with a pretty printed dress, especially one of this season’s gorgeous ikat iterations. Of course, what’s comfortable for one person may not be comfortable for another, but you’re bound to find a silhouette that works for you, whether mini or maxi, strapless or short sleeved. Here are a few options for your Mexican celebration:

For shoes, a low wedge or even flat strappy metallic sandal will be perfect. A pretty scarf or open weave cardigan are ideal for layering should the weather get chilly. As for accessories, opt for pretty earrings, a cuff bracelet or bangles, and a summery clutch. Have fun!

Q. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I never know what to wear. It’s too warm for winter sweaters, but too cold and unpredictable for spring and summer clothes. What do I wear during this wacky in-between weather?

A. Transition dressing can be difficult for even the most style savvy woman. The trick is to dress in lightweight layers that can be added and removed as needed, depending on the temperature of the day. This season, invest in some bold or printed blazers that can double as a lightweight jacket when your usual coat is just too warm. Layer the blazer over a pretty blouse or top that stands on its own when the blazer is removed. Pair it with slim cropped pants and a ballet flat or pump and you’ve got the perfect transitional look for work or weekends.

Q. I’m going to a beach wedding in June, and would like something gauzy, maybe off the shoulder, but something for the more mature person. Any ideas?

A. A drapey kimono dress or printed tunic dress offers just the right tropical breeze-catching beachy glamour perfect for a beach wedding — and just the right coverage and style for a woman over 40. Here are some of our favorites available now:

Q. What accessories (jewelry, bag) should I wear with a black cocktail dress and silver sequin shoes? The cocktail dress has a round neck with a V neck in the back and black soft ruffle down the front.

A. The simple answer would be to suggest silver and black accessories, which would look lovely and chic. However, a black dress and silver shoes also offer the perfect opportunity to incorporate a pop of color. Here are a few suggestions for you to mix and match as you please:
