As summer comes to a close, it’s time to get a little more dressed up for fall’s cocktail parties and events. That’s when we turn to Katherine Feiner, an up-and-coming designer who earned her chops at Burberry, Preen and Vera Wang before launching her own collection last year. Her line features luxe silk dresses and separates in modern, feminine silhouettes. From the perfect updated LBD to a bold red number, there’s something for every occasion.

No one else combines walkability with cutting edge, contemporary fashion quite like San Francisco designers Megan Papay and Cristina Palomo-Nelson, who debuted their first collection in 2012. The two met while working at a fashion-comfort footwear brand, where they finessed their skills for making chic footwear that actually fits well. We’re just excited that designers are finally starting to get that the modern woman needs it all: gorgeous shoes that we can run from errands to work to a social event in without killing our feet.
