Apparently, patchwork isn’t just for old-fashion quilts anymore - it’s all over the runways! The first place that popped into our minds when we wondered where to shop this trend was, of course, the handmade heaven of Etsy. Here are a few of the cool pieces we found:

This week our online shopping adventures took us back to Of a Kind, which we wrote about last month. We instantly fell in love with this chunky rope bracelet by California designer Tanya Aguiniga. Painted with gold leaf, the bracelet makes a statement at 2.5 in tall. Perfect for pairing with fall’s chunky knits or dressing up a basic tee. There are only 25 of these pieces available, so snap one up while you can!

unif_floral_top_thumb.jpgWe’re not sure if this is a term, but the only way we can think of describing this line UNIF is “hipster sexy.” The initials UNIF actually stand for “You’re Not In Fashion” and the collection was founded in Los Angeles by DJ Eric Espinoza. Espinoza is inspired by the culture of LA, as well as the the underground electronic music community in the city. The result is a line of edgy pieces with occasional pops of brights and florals. Shop online at UNIFclothing.com.

We spotted some girls wearing these fabulous ankle cuffs by J. Dot Designs during Fashion’s Night Out in NYC, so naturally we had to log on and see these creations ourselves! If you’re looking for a new way to add some pizazz (and feathers!) to your style, you should definitely visit this store. Your heels will look more fierce and you won’t be able to walk a block without someone stopping you to ask where you got them!jdotdesigns_thumb.jpg

Beatrixe_FW2011.jpgWe recently stumbled across New York City up-and-comer Beatrixe, and we are literally dying over almost every single one of their pieces. A neutral palette for fall 2011 leaves us with luxe separates in flowing silhouettes, perfect for pairing with chunky sweaters or jeans this season.

The young line was born in fall 2010 when three European partners came together from various backgrounds in investment banking, marketing, and design. The name evolved from the world meaning “voyager through life” in Latin, symbolizing how the brand will evolve in the upcoming season to create a complete world for the woman who wears Beatrixe. We can’t wait to see what this evolution will bring!

For now, shop Beatrixe at 25 Park and Satine Boutique.beatrixe_thumb.jpg
