6619.jpgPolka dots are a major trend this summer, and they will continue to be huge this fall. And as much as we love a colorful print, no one can deny the chic attraction of a simple navy-and-white polka dot piece. That’s why we’re listing the Mason SIlk Oversize Polka Dot Tunic as one of our must-haves this season. This classic piece pairs well with statement accessories or pants, but looks just as cool with basic jeans or a skirt.

Caterina Gatta is a young Italian designer who came onto our radar during Milan fashion week this February. We love her playful yet chic designs, including party dresses and separates in fun, eye-catching prints. Right now her designs are sold only in select boutiques, but we know the masses will be clamoring for these pieces soon enough. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for spring 2012!

yayoi_forest_thumb.jpgDesigner Yayoi Inada of Brooklyn-based jewelry label Yayoi Forest was born near a small forest in Japan, which continues to inspire her current collection. Raised in Kyoto and Osaka, Inada was drawn to the calm and complete feeling she experienced whenever she spent time observing nature’s beauty. After a stint in advertising, she decided to satisfy her desire to express her artistic side and moved to New York to study jewelry design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. For her, her pieces are lucky charms, featuring typical luck symbols like birds in flight or the tree of life. She handcrafts each piece in her Brooklyn studio using 14k gold and sterling silver, incorporating beautiful hand etching and detailed wax carving that accentuate her appreciation for organic shapes and natural beauty. These are some of her pieces we fell in love with:

Bangles are such an easy way to update your look. We especially love this wooden bangle set from Stil because it is classic enough for everyday wear, yet the gold studs add a glam factor. Perfect for throwing on with jeans and a tee on lazy days or dressing up a boho-chic dress for a night out.
