cridecoueur_thumb.pngFor cocktail parties to weekend brunches, vegan footwear label Cri de Couer has you covered. Founded in 2007 by Gina Ferraraccio, the collection is handmade and features rich color combinations, supple vegan materials, and stylish yet comfortable heel shapes. The name means “cry from the heart” -  this phrase symbolizes the designers’ heartfelt desire to change the fashion footwear market. And with such wearable and fashion-forward shoes, they just might acheive that goal! For more information or to shop, visit cri-de-coeur.com. Here are some of our favorite picks:

buttons_thumb1.pngBored with your old cardigan or jacket? Personalize it with chic new buttons! Remove the original buttons and sew on some cooler options, like these handmade pieces available on Etsy. Another great place to find buttons is your local craft store. Mix and match colors and metals for a unique, boho feel.

eqzoom85.ms.jpegStuds, fringing, and buckles detail Bryna Nicole’s chic leather shoulder bags, which sell at an affordable price without sacrificing style or quality. Based in San Francisco, the collection combines uptown sophistication with downtown originality. The designer (by the same name) wanted to create trendy, high-end handbags that wouldn’t cost a fortune, so she launched her line in 2006. The line is now sold in stores throughout the US and several online stores, including Bluefly, where the bags retail for $205 to $265.
forloveandlemons.pngStill a little too risque for some (I wouldn’t wear it to brunch with grandma), bondage-inspired looks have emerged as a trend that’s here to stay, at least for a while. Drew Barrymore rocked this look in Elle’s August cover shoot, donning strappy black dresses, leather gloves, and a shredded dress. Get the trend at an affordable price with For Love & Lemons, a young, trendy brand that features jersey, spandex, and rayon garments that fit like a glove. Their edgy dresses and buckle pants (pictured above) are $139 each at stantonjames.com. If you’re not feeling the whole bondage trend, worry not - they have a slew of stylish tees and dresses you’ll love!forloveandlemonsthumb.png

etsycreamdress1.pngIt’s officially August, but there’s no shame in hanging on to summer as long as possible (just don’t be the woman wearing flip flops in the snow). So we’re making it officially OK to still buy extremely summery white dresses! We love this cream babydoll option from Etsy - the gathers add an unexpected twist. Even more, we love the $40 price tag - it might take off some of the guilt of buying a summer dress at the end of summer.

Jazzy Cream Cotton Dress, $40.50 at etsy.com.
