As part of American Living for JCPenney’s “Made For” campaign, we were asked to create an outfit “Made For” a specific moment of our day. Like most women, we wear many hats, so wearing clothes that “do it all” is essential. Our clothes need to be stylish, comfortable and versatile enough to take us from morning to night and everywhere in between as we get our kids ready for school, head out for a business meeting, run errands and sometimes attend an evening work event or social gathering.

As you’ll see in the video, we consider a dress to be our wardrobe’s MVP (most versatile piece) - it’s the quickest way to get dressed in the morning, looks instantly polished, and can be dressed up or down with accessories and layering pieces. Check out the video above to see how our American Living dresses help us “do it all” throughout the day.

Now, here’s the fun part… we want you to share with us your “Made For” moment and select a piece from the American Living collection that you would wear for your moment in the comments section below. We’ll select our favorite comment to WIN a $250 gift card from JCPenney! You’ll also be entered to win the grand prize of a $1500 JCPenney gift card! The deadline for entries is 11:59 EST on July 31, 2010. (check out the official rules)

We were recently asked to test wear a superfine wool t-shirt from Ramblers Way. Despite the promise of “next-to-skin softness”, we were somewhat skeptical that a garment made of wool would resemble anything akin to a t-shirt. Created by the founders of Tom’s of Maine, we were lured by their dedication to responsible and sustainable wool production methods, made in America, and intrigued to see just how soft and fine wool can be.

Not brave enough to test out the wool briefs they offer, we opted for the Women’s Next-to-Skin Scoop Neck Short Sleeve Top (Long) for our test wear. Much to our surprise, the wool t-shirt is truly as sleek, sexy and soft as they promised. In fact, if you didn’t know it was wool, you would suspect the t-shirt was made from silk or cotton (making those wool briefs seem not so crazy anymore.)

The t-shirt is thin enough to wear as a base layer under clothing and the breathable wool naturally repels odors and wicks away moisture, so it’s perfect for wearing any time of year. And most importantly, it is machine washable.

They offer many 4-season base layer options (including the aforementioned underwear) for men and women at RamblersWay.com. If you’re still a skeptic, they’ll even send you a free fabric sample so you can feel for yourself just how soft wool can be.
