As a girl who loves her bling, there’s rarely a jewelry trend I won’t
try on for size. Bib necklaces, embellished bangles, chandelier
earrings, multi-layered necklaces, etc. — I have a handful of each
entangled in a mess on my bedroom bureau! But despite my “try-anything”
attitude, I definitely was a little skeptical upon hearing about the
latest trend —
fringe necklaces. I’m not a huge fan of fringed bags, and I definitely wasn’t
lovin’ the whole western vest thing that popped up last year, so the
idea of a fringe necklace didn’t sound like something I’d want displayed
front and center upon my decolletage. But once I actually viewed a few
examples, it didn’t take me long to convert!
The fringed look gives a
sparkly movement in a way that layered chains can’t quite capture, and I love how the look can easily go from
casual to dressy. Instantly glam up your typical collared shirt with
some shimmery silver fringe like this
Haute
Hippie necklace (or this more modest version from
Arden B.),
or go earthy with a layered stone fringe necklace like
this
one from Urban Outfitters! Of course, if you’re feeling really
daring, this
ombre one
from Fred Flare incorporates some fall-friendly tie-dye into the mix
as well.
