Gap Sequin Skirt

Gap Sequin SkirtIt’s nearly impossible not to feel a little love for the ubiquitous, ever-dazzling sequin this season. Now is the best time of year to break out the sparkly stuff - it’s festive, it makes a statement and it looks great in doses big and small alike. This skirt favors a more generous helping, though it’s still sensible thanks to its simple silhouette and banded waist. Great for parties in lieu of a dress, and so cute with a bold sweater!

Okay, so there isn’t much “subdued” about a sequined olive tunic dress, but you have to admit, the color doesn’t normally bring the immediate wow factor, and you certainly wouldn’t call it a pop of color. However, despite its more earthy, muted hue, olive dresses are undoubtedly hot this season and are making a show-stopping impact on behalf of more “ho-hum” neutrals!

Despite the color’s frequent association with the ridiculously popular military trend nowadays, olive green is also surprisingly elegant (not to mention skintone-flattering), making it a perfect base for dressing up or down depending on the occasion. Add some glitz with complementary gold accessories, or go funky with a leopard bag — one of the hottest trend pairings of the season! Go casual-cool with a safari-inspired shirt dress, add some drama with emphasized shoulders and ribbed texture, or shimmer with a sleeved mini with metallic cuffs. In any case, you’re bound to open your eyes to a whole new must-have color for your fall/winter wardrobe!
