As a gal who nearly always fills her handbag to the brim (it doesn’t matter what size purse I’m rockin’ on any particular day — it’s always full!), buckle closures have always been my savior when it comes to making sure I don’t lose some of my precious loot on the go. Sure, buckles are known for being functional — closures, cinching, tightening, etc — but nowadays I can’t help but notice that the hottest bags for fall are buckling up for fashion rather than function!

Like this season’s hottest multi-buckled cuffed sandals, buckled-up bags give that hardware-embellished look in a way that’s more practical and less garish than tired studs, and more everyday-appropriate than jewels or rhinestones. Even if you’re not a fan of excessive hardware that’s strictly for looks rather than serving a particular function, multiple buckles give that look of sensibility that’s still stylish yet also slightly edgy.
