All Ruffled Up

Shoes on the fall runway were girly and romantic in a whole new way. We’re talking about ruffles! You’ll find many of the traditional shoe styles - like stiletto, round-toe, open toed, chunky-heeled - have now added ruffle shoes into the mix. In some cases, they provide a distinctly girly touch to an otherwise structured shoe, and on still other styles, they further ratchet up the feminine. It’s a tiny detail that can make all the difference in a shoe or an outfit going from mediocre to distinctive.

You’ll see a lot of ruffles showing up around the edge of the shoe. We particularly like this one for it’s somewhat boxy appeal with the open toe, large buckle and chunky heel. Definitely a shoe that needs to be shown off.

Speaking of being shown off, don’t hide this T-strapped pump under pants! This shoe should be the focal point of your outfit! With an almost tuxedo quality, the ruffles are in a completely unexpected place that take this shoe from being cute but “normal,” to adorable and totally amazing.

Another instance of ruffles in somewhat unexpected places, the detailing around the ankle and across the toe provides a playful feel to this stacked mary jane.
