Sometimes it's nice to dress down, but it's never nice to look sloppy. Stock up on cute t-shirts that are both stylish and comfortable from Etsy's independent designers. Here are our top picks:

There are six messages to be purchased separately for $65 or together for $250. Each bracelet is an embossed 14k gold plated matte finish charm imported from Greece, made in the US.

These bracelets make thoughtful gifts for birthdays or other special occasions. And for that sometimes snobby gal pal? Get her the "Be Nice" bracelet.

Picture 1.pngLara Miller is a Chicago-based independent fashion designer who creates sustainable contemporary clothing inspired by her city's architecture and culture. Her clothes are made from eco-friendly fabrics like organic cotton, hand-loomed bamboo, hemp and vegan silk. Adding to the sustainability factor, most garments can be wrapped or flipped into a completely different look.

We love the variety of party dresses in her fall and holiday 2009 collections - there are many colors, shapes and styles to fit everyone's body type and personal tastes.

Lara Miller is available online at laramiller.com and in more than 50 boutiques worldwide. Most items are priced between $50 and $250.
Rebecca Shepherd is an independent Brooklyn-based jewelry designer. She started out designing jewelry for her friends' proms, and now she has clients nationwide. Here jewelry incorporates precious and semi-precious stones and is sold in several boutiques and salons in New York, and online at her Etsy shop. She also sells at the Brooklyn Indie Market. Here are some of our favorite pieces:

Tulu Remy Hobo

Tulu_remy-hobo-grey_1.jpgThis faux leather slouchy hobo is ultra chic and big enough to hold all your daily essentials. The beauty here is in the details: the studs, the fringed zippers, the floral lining, and the braided handle. But the most fabulous part is the price - this bag retails for just $84 on moxsie.com. Tulu, which launched in fall 2009, is the younger sister brand of Deux Lux, which we already are obsessed with.

New York-based designer Kim Phan's collection, Yumi Kim, launched in fall 2008. It is inspired by vintage prints and silhouettes, and we love the fun prints that are flirty and feminine with an urban vibe. Yumi Kim's dresses are great investments because you can wear them easily during any season - with tights for now, with bare legs and sandals in the summer! Here are some of our favorite looks from the collection:

Yumi Kim is available online at yumikim.com, in specialty boutiques worldwide, and in the designer's flagship store on the Lower East Side of New York City.

KelsiDagger_caymen-raspberry-nappa_1_1.jpg
Named for the British literary showgirl, Kelsi Dagger is a line of hip, fun shoes designed by the men behind Pour La Victoire. Our favorite pair are the Caymen Ballet Flats ($95 at moxsie.com). The zipper detail makes them stylish and feminine, and the leather lining, padded footbed, and non-slip rubber heel inserts ensure quality and comfort. These shoes can be worn casually with a pair of jeans or as a chic alternative to heels with more formal attire, making them a great day-to-night option! They also come in black. For more information or to view the entire collection, visit kelsidagger.com.
