shakuhachi-fringe-dress.jpgIf you're the type of gal that likes to make an entrance - the type where the room stops and stares - then this dress from Australian cult label Shakuhachi is for you. The statement piece features macrame knots throughout with a bohemian twist of chic fringe detail on the hem. The perfect clash of edgy and on-trend.

Clogs were one of those trends that most people waited to jump on the bandwagon with, but we learned our lesson with leggings (remember how everyone thought they were way out there? And now they're a staple!) Our go-to brand for chic clogs is Maguba, an iconic Swedish label that puts a modern spin on old timer footwear. All of Maguba's clogs are made with natural materials by hand, and the company makes a donation to plant a new woodland for every pair of clogs sold to offset their carbon footprint.

Corey Lynn Calter's resort collection is inspired by bees, with playful honeycomb prints in black and white, with pops of yellow and blue. This season is also the designer's first foray into handbags, featuring woven clutches. We can't wait to shop this line to wear on our winter getaways!corey_lynn_calter_resort_2011_thumb.jpg

jeffrey_Campbell_plum_for_polly_thumb.jpgThree things we are all about right now: shopping, affordable clothes, and Jeffrey Campbell shoes. Family-run Los Angeles e-boutique Plum for Polly combines all of these, offering a wide selection of cute pieces that are under $100 as well as the most Jeffrey Campbell shoes we've found on the web. Um, virtual paradise? I think so! Here are some of our top picks - shop online at

NADINE_DISTRESSEDBLACK_SIDE.jpgA footwear brand that just danced across our radar is Koolaburra, a fashion-forward label with an authentic heritage in sheepskin. Inspired by both modern and classic love songs, the line strives for the perfect juxtaposition of rocker chic and boho sensibility. We love how they married clogs and booties in the style to the left for an utterly chic result. Not only are these shoes stylish, they are functional too: lined with sheepskin, they'll be sure to keep your toes toasty warm this fall and winter.

doru-olowu-spring-2012-thumb.jpgAnother up-and-coming label that caught our eye during fashion week was Duro Olowu. The London-based designer mixed interesting prints (like floral and leopard) and classic, feminine silhouettes for very "proper" yet statement looks. The collection was inspired by West Indian immigrants arriving in England in the 1950s, including Olowu's mother, and has a clear vintage vibe. Here are some of our favorite looks:

creatures-of-the-wind_spring2012_thumb.jpgIt's always interesting to see which new designers are showing at fashion week, and one label that definitely caught our eye this season was Creatures of the Wind, designed by Shane Gabier and Chris Peters. After only two collections, the duo had already nabbed a CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund nomination, so we knew we could expect  good things. Inspired by psychedelic experiences, the collection is actually extremely wearable with pops of bright colors, eye-catching prints, and on-trend silhouettes. We're already adding a few looks to our spring wish lists!
