June 2012 Archives

Summer fashion is all about taking it easy - too many belts and embellishments can weigh you down when it's hot. And wouldn't you rather be enjoying the sun then spending all your time getting dressed?

That's why we love the simple jean shorts + tee look for the weekend. Take it up a notch with a bold necklace that goes with everything, like this wooden geometric option from Etsy seller JuliMade. With adjustable knots, you can easily make the necklace a different length that will work with everything you own.

Our current obsession? This eye catching Seaecho clutch made from Pendleton wool. Featuring a thick leather tassel and turquoise bead detail, the bag is the perfect size to hold all your essentials (cell phone, wallet, keys, lip gloss) and transitions seamlessly from day to night. All of the designs by this Portland-based line are seriously covetable, and this one is exclusive to one of our favorite online indie shops: Summerland.

Maison Olga is a Paris-based line created by a former Louis Vuitton employee and her close friend, formerly of Prada. The duo brought their respective French and Italian luxury backgrounds to launch their own collection inspired by the countries they have visited. The spring/summer 2012 collection is inspired by memories of an African safari: the forests, the majestic animals, the burning desert sand, and the Kenyan mountain tops are all interpreted through brown, beige, and orange hues of geometric lace and prints.

These seafoam earrings are classic, elegant and just under $10. Perfect for pairing with your little white dress this summer, they are gold plated and made with seafoam green aqua. An affordable + chic buy = a must-have!

It's always nice to have a shoe that can go anywhere, and these flats from Pixie Market definitely fit the bill. The straw flats are seasonally appropriate for summer days and can be dressed up or down (the pointy leather toecap makes them appropriate for the office, too).

We're always excited to break out our Mar y Sol bags, because that means it's officially summer! The tropical locale-inspired bags come in fun color combinations and seasonal materials perfect for the beach and beyond. The Olympia Pouchette is the style we're coveting this season, a) because it's bright pink with awesome trendy fringe detail, and b) because it allows for hands-free summer fun. Throw it on while walking the boardwalk, dancing all night, or shopping in the city for easy style.

Happy Friday! Is anyone else planning to spend their weekend poolside or by the beach? That's all this necklace by Etsy seller Hannah Brewster has us thinking about. Brewster hand cut the aqua blue scalloped pieces from polymer clay and dipped each one in gold acrylic, making for a lightweight but gorgeous summer piece.
