New York Fashion Week Spring 2013: DKNY, Diane Von Furstenberg, Tracy Reese

New York Fashion Week coverage provided by The Fashion Spot

It may be the beginning of fall, but New York is already buzzing about what's hot for Spring 2013 with NY Fashion Week in full swing at Lincoln Center. Here are highlights from some of this week's best shows:

DKNY

Given that she was inspired by New Yorkers who are "ready for anything," Donna Karan showed a DKNY collection brimming with summer staples. Denim was particularly strong this season making for fantastic button downs, bermudas, and cropped over-the-ankle jeans. Lots of sportswear, RTW, and accessories including visors, fanny packs, long loose coats, tennis-inspired skirts, and bra tops also made for covetable finds, while monochrome floor sweeping dresses looked at once comfortable and glam and served to finish the well-rounded spring collection.

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG

The designer's spring lineup was so fantastically vibrant it gave me anxiety about the looming winter. Saturated and bright shades of green, yellow, orange, turquoise, and pink made for flowing summer dresses and easy separates (think casual cropped trousers, relaxed blazers, and tunic tops). Prints and neutrals were also present, featured mostly in loosely fitted silhouettes for a lively collection brimming with movement.

TRACY REESE

While many designers focus on the surf and sand aspects of spring and summer, the Tracy Reese Spring 2013 collection is ready to hit the steamy city streets. The beauty look even interpreted summer shine and sweaty hair in an impossibly chic rendition. Blinding brights mixed with beige, sexy silks with tough printed leathers. The combination of neons and wild prints could get a little 90s but this is a throwback worth considering. Lots of layers, chunky-punky arm parties, and geeky goggle-like glasses added dimension to the looks.
