New York Fashion Week is in full swing, here are highlights from some of the best shows of Day 3 and Day 4.
Derek Lam
For his namesake collection this season, Derek Lam was inspired by a woman who knows what she likes when it comes to fashion, "a definitive dresser," and after his Fall 2011 show it's pretty clear that many women will want Derek Lam in their closets - and lots of it.

With a high-profile spread in the current issue of New York Magazine, GQ's best new menswear designer win in tow, and the upcoming opening of his first stand-alone store, Alexander Wang is riding high, and it showed, with what is widely being considered one of his best collections to date.

Vivienne Tam
It may be a collection mostly comprised of black, but this doesn't mean the designs are simple. Vivienne Tam's Fall 2011 collection was all about the little details. The vintage-inspired line featured lace appliqué, fringe hems and shimmering fabrications. Tam's signature straight silhouettes and kimono dresses were shown in cool tweeds and intricate silk prints for an updated twist on her classic style.

Tory Burch
It's no secret that Tory Burch's namesake collection is always inspired by what's missing in her own closet. Her uptown appeal has captured the interest of shoppers worldwide and they clamor for her logo emblazoned accessories and simply styled ready-to-wear looks. For Fall, the designer reflected the 70s trends we saw last season while integrating a few of this season's most prevalent, so far. The presentation was a hybrid of the installation format we've seem more and more of in the past few seasons and a standard runway show as the girls stood still before making their standard walk.
