What to wear for hot and cold transitional fall weather

old-navy-vests.jpgOctober can be fickle: one day it’s warm, one day it’s cool — which makes getting dressed a bit tricky. In order to weather the fluctuations, the key is to load up on layering pieces that are made for seasonal transitions. Scarves, cardigans, long sleeve tees, vests…these can be a wardrobe’s best friend right about now, which is why we were thrilled to shop the Old Navy #FallsMostWanted sale full of great hot and cold weather items for everyone, for $20 and under!

We visited Old Navy to see the huge variety of puffer vests in every color (even animal print), lightweight sweaters in every color of the rainbow, pants, scarves and more. To prove just how versatile the classic puffer vest can be, we created two looks — one for warm weather, one for cool weather.

Our first look for warmer weather pairs the puffer vest in vibrant red with a classic white button-down, a chic leopard print pencil skirt and pumps for a look that heads straight to the office in style. For cool, casual weekends, we paired the same vest with a versatile lightweight sweater from Old Navy, a gorgeous printed scarf, of-the-moment velvet jeans and glitter ankle boots.
